"Cemil Basargan is on a visit to Spain and wishes to see a Bull Fight. He finds a seat in the back rows and starts watching the activity. Every now and then crowd shows its excitement with a unanimous "OLE" for the matador. This continues for a while like that. All of a sudden the bull makes a clever dive on the matador. A single "OLE" is heard. All the heads turn back. It is the operatic voice of Cemil Basargan in support of the bull. It is not a very lucky day for the matador. Cemil Basargan finds the chance of shouting "OLE" a few more times for the poor animal. After the fourth or the fifth "OLE", an angry spectator kicks his back, another goes by the fist. He opens his eyes in a nearby hospital. That is the end of his visit to Spain.

I shall remember him with this funny story he had told us some years ago. He was a fine musician well known by live radio broadcasts of his band. Cemil Basargan was one of the few surviving composers of the good old days of Turkish Tango. He has died on 18th of May 2004." bh
